Bad Skin, Anyone?

Since the second month of my pregnancy I have had the WORST trouble with my skin. Luckily, not my face so much...but it IS summer and the ONLY parts of my body that aren't the size of a Macy's Thanksgiving day parade balloon (my back, shoulders, chest, and arms)are covered in acne. I had this problem pretty bad in adolescence, but the treatments provided then couldn't be taken without strict birth control due to possibilities of birth defects. So, I'm assuming they would be out of the question now. Has anyone had the same trouble? If so, any suggestions as to what, if anything, I can do to minimize it? I'd love to be able to wear those cute little strappy maternity tops! Maybe show off some newfound cleavage! ;)

What can I do next?

Hi, My name is S., and I had the same problem as soon as my daughter was born. I had never had problems with acne on my body before so I was quite alarmed. My daughter is now 5 and I have tried a few things. The main thing I found with me is that if I used lotions they clogged the pores and produced more acne. What seemed to work for me was the Mary Kay Acne treatment gel and follow it with the MK Oil Free Hydrating Gel. I am a Sales Director with them, so I wanted to find products in the line I sell to work on this problem. If you would like, I can provide you with what I used. Please feel free to e-mail me, my address is: ____@____.com or ____@____.com or go right to my website and that address is: www.marykay.com/sfoley2001
Sincerely,
S. F.

I had the same problem when I was preggo with my daughter. The Dr prescribed Erthymycin (sp) which I used during pregnancy. It helped but I was still a mess. Luckily, my pregnancy with my son my skin was clear and beautiful. For me, I really need to use an exfoiliant. From this website I learned that I was using too harsh of acne related products for my skin. It was flaking out and then producing more oil. My skin has never looked better and I used cheap products and no rx's. I buy some of her products but mostly I use the cheap drug store brands. This website also talks about tree oil too.

I can recommend in trying Melaleuca products that are made with tea tree oil. They have all non-toxic products that would do great for you and your baby. They have an acne package that is made with the tea tree oil that my son swears by. Contact me at ____@____.com for more details.

You might try using the AcneFree brand body wash. You can get it at Wal-mart & I've found both the body wash and the skincare are great for acne problems.

Hi J.,

Try a skin care line with Tea Tree Oil. It works wonders on blemished skin. I am a consultant with a company that sells a line of skin care with Tea Tree Oil and I just sent you a personal message with some additional information you can look over if you are interested.

I highly recommend it and have seen some great results. The products are very reasonably priced, too.

Good luck!!

I use proactiv solution which is a topical acne treatment...you've probably seen the infomercials for it. It REALLY DOES work! I love it. I don't know what I would do without it. They have a product line that you can use on your body as well as your face. It is GREAT! You have to use it exactly as directed or it doesn't work...which includes a three step regimen twice a day. It can get a little old, but it does work. Good luck!

Dear J.,

Try Nutritional Brewers Yeast Flakes manufactured by KAL. Cost is minimal. You get it at the healthfood store and this is a form of b complex vitamins. It does not taste great but the baby is taking your b vitamins and you need more. These will not hurt the baby or you. It is actually classified as a food. Try to make protein shakes with it a couple of times a day. You should notice an improvement in about a week. It will also help you with energy. This stuff also helps milk production when you have the baby.

It is never topical, but always internal that causes problems with the skin.

I live off of this stuff.

Good luck.

Have you heard of MonaVie? There was a artical in People Style Watch Magazine on skin products and it was about MonaVie. It is a natural health drink that is good for the whole family and it is great for your skin. Since that artical I decide to try it. I love it and the kids love the taste too. I am now a distributor for MonaVie and making my own schedule, goals and money as a stay at home mom. I am helping others and making new friends. I have never had so much fun! We have tasting parties every week. I would love for you to come and try this drink!

YES!!! I'm pregnant as we speak with my second daughter, and my skin has been awful!! I didn't have this problem the first time, so I was beyond frusterated when this one made me feel like I was in highschool again (smile).

I have NEVER been big on the television promotions, but by my 4th month I was fed-up, and really sad about my skin. I actually broke down and ordered Proactive. I bought the smallest package, just in case it didn't work, which was only $19 or so.

Completely sceptical...but desperate, I tried like 6 other products...it actually worked!! Plus it really only took a few days for everything to clear up.

It worked for me, and quickly. I deffinately suggest trying it.

Good Luck!!

I have a condition called Hidradentis. It is a condition that generally bring boil type pimples into your sweaty areas, underarms, breasts, groin, legs. It tends to get worse during pregancy. When I gave birth I had tennis ball size one on my thigh....Here is some info. You may want to google it and see if it fits you...
