You could look for a Kindermusik class called Sign and Sing. We took our daughter and she had lots of fun. She was one of the older kids in the class so she picked up signs quicker than some of the babies. Kindermusik has a website and it'll direct you to teachers in your area. Good luck.

I'm a mother of 4 (9, 7, 4, 1) and have signed with all my babies. I suggest you save your time and money and forget the class! Purchase the book BABY SIGNS by Linda Acredolo and Susan Goodwyn. My well worn copy is all we have needed.

I think you will find signing with your baby to be well worth the time and effort. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Best of luck!

The library has some great self teaching books. I taught deaf children for 4 years and you could use these books to teach yourself and your baby the basic signs. The large print versions are the best.

Call Suzanne Williams @ Kindermusik. I took my now two 1/2 year old when she was 9 months old and went for 2 semesters. She learned so many signs and spoke much earlier than most kids. I think this class did wonders for her...and we had fun! There is a class @ Dana's Dance Studio on 1709...that is where we took it. They offer a different day/time @ the Keller Point too.

I don't know about any classes in this area. But, as far as baby sign language, I can suggest a few things. We have been signing to our almost 7 month old son since he was 3 months old. He is already making 4 signs on his own and seems to understand more. Now that he can sit up on his own (very recent development) we look forward to even more signing. It's hard to do it with a baby in your arms since a lot of signs require two hands. We purchased the Baby Signs Program from Barns and Noble and it is good. It was about $40. It comes with history, directions, board books and a parent DVD and child DVD. I have since discovered an AWESOME book called "Sign, Sing and Play" and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to sign to their baby or toddler. It has a ton of signs with clear directions on how to make them as well as games and easy ways to incorporate signing into the daily routine. If you find any signing classing in the DFW area, let me know because I would love to sign up my son. Thanks and good luck! It is WONDERFUL being able to understand what my son is thinking. You'll really enjoy it!

We are beginning a Wee hands sign language class in Grapevine at The Nestingplace in august. We are looking at a Sunday afternoon class and a Wednesday afternoon class. You can call The Nestingplace at ###-###-#### or email us to get on the class roster. I believe the cost is $140 for 8 weeks and includes literature to help you work with your child at home. You can find information on the Wee Hands programs on line, they have a great system of songs and play to teach signs to moms and babies.

I used the above website to teach my child sign language. The videos are extremely helpful!
There are sign classes near you, but I thought free videos of how to sign were a great idea!
HOpe that helps.
