Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a nice place for my twin G/G's birthday coming up in a few weeks. I was thinking somewhere with a play gym inside just in case it rains or is too hot. Also I was thinking about hiring a singer/music person to come and play music and interact w/ the kids. Any ideas greatly appreciated. I would like a place that will supply decorations, food, etc so I don't have to run around buying everything, clean up afterwards, and be stressed out; I just want to enjoy the day w/ my girls, family and friends. I live in West LA (Brentwood/Westwood/Century City area).
Thanks!
E.

The Treehouse Social Club in Beverly Hills might be able "to do it all". Or you could try Kidnasium, you just bring the food and the decorations, but they do set up and clean up, serving and keep the kids occupied.

We have a music party! Our wonderful performer brings her guitar and spends 20-30 minutes singing popular kids songs with the children. She brings instruments and puppets for the kids to play along. She can be dressed in street clothes or as a character as long as the character has mobility and vision. If enough notice when booking is given, they can learn and play “themed” songs. Variations: Cowgirl Music Party, Pirate Music Party; RR Engineer
She can round out the hour, or fill additional booked time with dancing games, parachute games, facepainting and/or balloon animals depending on the number of children and how long she is there.

The party is $175 for the 1st hour and $45 for each additional half hour; there is a charge of $25 extra to come in character if we do not have more than one of the costume..e.g., we only have one JoJo, one Strawberry Shortcake
You may book by calling us or requesting a booking agreement by fax or email. We do require a small deposit to GUARANTEE your character, date and time.
Thank you for letting us help make your child's birthday a special and memorable day!

There is a place in Brentwood, on San Vincente - it's called Hugs and Giggles (or it might be Giggles and Hugs?). It sounds like it would be good for this - there is a play area for the kids - everything in there is nice and soft, and there is even an attendant in there all the time - so you don't have to watch them like a hawk (not as much anyway!) I believe it's just a flat rate for the food and use of the play area - per person. Go check it out and see if it would work - hope this helps!

Hi E.,

Here in Sherman Oaks there is a place called The Playroom. It's a huge indoor play room/gym. They do birthday parties (I think they offer different price packages). Also, not sure if you are interested, by I'm a photographer often hired to photograph events like these. I'm currently offering specials on parties: $150 for coverage, 4x6 prints of all images and 1 5x7 prints of you choice. Please see my website www.hpmphoto.com
Thanks and good luck with your planning!

Take my advice and skip the party entirely. One years olds could care less. Why don't you and your husband go out to a nice dinner instead.

Kidnasium in Santa Monica (Wilshire and Lincoln) - I was inspired to start up mommy-and-me classes there after attending a birthday. Very professional, very clean, very fun for kids from ages 5 months to 7 years.

I just went to Giggles and Hugs in Brentwood on Saturday. It was great, the food was actually good - and the play area would be great for one year olds. My older son is nearly five and although he had fun, it was definitely geared towards younger kids. It was expensive though. We spent $50 for lunch and the play fee for two kids and two adults.

My Gym has super fun birthday parties and they provide a lot of things in their birthday packages. They have a My Gym in Santa Monica and in Beverly Hills. Their website is www.mygym.com.

Hi E.,

The absolutely best place to have your kids birthday party is at Joey's Gym on Robinson Blvd (between Wilshire and Olympic). Ron (the owner of the place) is AMAZING. I have checked out many gyms in the LA area, NOTHING even comes close in comparison with Joey's Gym.

Good Luck,
N.

Both Bright Child in Santa Monica or Josephson Academy of Gymnastics in Culver City do great birthday parties.

I had my son's one year birthday party at Gymboree in the Westside Pavilion Mall. I had been taking him there for classes and really loved it. They are very age-appropriate. They are in partnership with the National Organization called, "ZERO TO THREE" to help create their curriculum. Check out their websites: www.zerotothree.org
www.gymboreeclasses.com
I promise I don't work for them. :-) I just really like them. They are safe, clean, and the children really like it. Good Luck in your decision, I'm sure your twins will have fun in whatever you choose.
